Manager, Ethical Standards

As the Manager, Ethical Standards you will provide strategic and operational advice to manage critical and complex incidents and associated complaint issues and identify opportunities to develop and refine the investigations process to support broader reform. You will also lead prioritisation, delivery and management of complaint and investigative services, and ensure appropriate resources are assigned to cases.
The Manager, Ethical Standards reports to the Director, Ethical Standards, Business and Corporate Services.

Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the management of conduct in partnership with stakeholders to develop solutions relating to discipline and conduct issues through effective research, analysis and consideration of the agencies goals and objectives.
- Oversee and coordinate the delivery of investigative services in partnership with internal stakeholders and external investigative, regulatory, and law enforcement bodies.
- Investigate complex, sensitive and/or contentious allegations of misconduct, including the collection, analysis, documenting of evidence and preparation of complex investigation reports.
- Foster the development of managers and staff members' capability in relation to managing ethical and conduct matters by providing leadership, guidance, and coaching.
- Manage reporting obligations to internal and external stakeholders, including the Crime and Corruption Commission, Public Sector Commission, Queensland Ombudsman, Department of Education and other external stakeholders.
- Lead the provision of expert advice to stakeholders on the investigation and resolution of various matters relating to employee misconduct and corrupt conduct.
- Provide representation at intra and interdepartmental meetings and significant forums and actively promote ethical awareness and the investigation process to staff, clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure the provision of training, coaching and consultancy services to the agency on ethical and integrity topics and managing issues relating to discipline and unsatisfactory conduct.
- Engage effectively with managers across the organisation to develop an integrated approach to case management and ensure a constant exchange of information and intelligence.
- Interpret situations on investigative cases and consult, mediate, negotiate, and resolve conflict across a diverse and complex client base.
- Oversee and prepare complex reports, correspondence, briefing notes and submissions for senior and executive management, the Minister, and other audiences on significant departmental issues.
- Develop policies and procedures relating to investigations and procedures relating to fraud and corrupt conduct and employee misconduct.
