The fine print

To be eligible for the TECE program you must:

A. Be in your final year of initial teacher education

B. Commit over a 12 month period to complete a minimum of 50 additional mentored classroom hours plus 50 additional hours of professional learning. (Delivered by your Head of TECE, experienced teachers and external providers, covering the Australian Professional Standards).

C.  Be able to demonstrate high quality academic and non-academic capabilities by acheiving and maintaining a minimum GPA of 5.5 or higher.  

D. Be available to commence employment as a teacher in a Queensland State School following successful completion of all the TECE program. (Employment offer is determined by each region based on location and/or subject area).

Successfully complete the TECE program.

Meet all Department of Education teacher employment requirements.

Gain teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).

Candidates who are graduating in Semester 2, 2019 are eligible to apply for the 2018 program.
