Senior Project Officer


Strategy and Capability; Operations Support; Natural Resources; Brisbane based, but flexible work location arrangements will be considered

We are seeking applications from people interested in medium and short term opportunities at the AO6 Senior Project Officer level with the Natural Resources (NR) Operations Support teams.
We have one temporary vacancy (for up to 12 months commencing mid-May 2019 at this stage) and will use this process to fill other short term roles that may occur in the next 12 months. The roles will be with either the Natural Resource Programs Team or the Strategy and Capability Team.
These roles provide a great opportunity for you to demonstrate transferable skills while you learn more about Operations Support and its critical role in delivering the department’s business.

• lead project activities, complete project reporting, monitor deliverables, and identify and communicate risks in a timely manner
• prepare reports, submissions, business cases, briefing notes and correspondence to a high standard
• conduct research, analyse data and provide advice, support and recommendations
• liaise, consult and foster effective networks with internal and external stakeholders, including team members, other departmental work units, Commonwealth and Queensland government agencies and industry and business associations
• represent the department on interdepartmental and interagency committees and forums, as required
• other duties as directed and required.
