Are you looking for a unique opportunity to apply your qualitative and quantitative research expertise to contribute to safe communities and fair and ethical public institutions? As part of our Research and Insights unit you will lead a multidisciplinary team including criminologists, psychologists, statisticians, analysts, public policy specialists and social scientists. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver insights and innovation to systemic problems. Your work will contribute to public debate, shape policy and legislative reform, and substantially add to the evidence base in areas of public sector ethics, criminal justice and policing.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption in Queensland.  We are the only Australian integrity agency to investigate both crime and corruption, provide oversight of police and the public sector and protect witnesses.

About you:

Key duties and responsibilities

The Principal Research & Insights Officer is responsible for: 

  • Leading the Research and Insights business unit in driving research innovation and insights in the context of the Commission's work.

  • Coordinating and managing multiple major Research and Insights projects and Commission officers allocated to those projects.

  • Using high level analytical and conceptual skills, especially in the context of designing and carrying out Research and Insights projects.

  • Providing high level methodological and analytical advice within the context of the Commission's work.

  • Using data to create insights for various stakeholders

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, particularly in relation to obtaining data and disseminating findings.

  • Communicating with influence the outcomes and insights of research.

  • Guiding and assisting other staff in writing reports and producing visualisations suitable for multiple audiences, arising out of the research.

  • Contributing to the professional development of other research and insights officers.
