The Strategy, Innovation & Insights Division is seeking a team member committed to continuous improvement and supporting business leaders in the delivery of transformational programs and projects.

The ideal candidate is inquisitive, willing to learn and has great attention to detail. Experience in the delivery of solution architectures within both waterfall and agile project environments is a must.

Further, the ideal candidate will demonstrate capability in the following requirements:

  • Partnering with subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into Digital and Technology solutions.
  • Promoting the (re)use of technology and applications to reduce costs and proliferation of information, and to improve end user experience.
  • Participating in design review boards to evaluate project proposals for architectural fit.
  • Providing technical leadership in the planning and design phases of project delivery, including leading technical reviews.
  • Advising on opportunities, options, risks, cost-benefits and impacts across the technical and operational landscape as well as within the project and solution delivery realms.
  • Ensuring system requirements are sufficiently captured to inform sound design of a solution that meets the needs and expectations of stakeholders and the CCC.
  • Developing comprehensive responses, briefs, submissions, presentations and reports to guide consistency and delivery of solution architecture.
  • Promoting and supporting appropriate methods and tools for effective delivery of solution architecture within projects.
  • Working with third-party suppliers and consultants where engaged to deliver architectural and design outputs.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Assisting the Executive Director, Information Services and Information Technology Manager with the development of application and technology roadmaps and budget estimates, and reporting on the alignment of roadmaps against current state and project plans.

 

Key accountabilities of the role are:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and delivering solution architecture, including preparing roadmaps and designing, integrating and securing solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technology, application, and systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding and applying Qld Government Information Standards to solution architecture.
  • Proven ability to translate architecture into detailed system designs to support business outcomes through working with stakeholders and projects across the organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess architectural solution options and associated risks and issues, ensuring the solution architecture achieves the optimal balance of meeting business and technical requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and ensure the consistent use of solution architecture techniques, methodologies and tools.

 

Qualifications/ Professional Registrations/ Other Requirements:

  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in information technology, computing or another related fields is highly desirable.  
  • Qualifications acquired from an overseas educational institution will only be accepted where the qualification has been recognised to an equivalent level in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
  • Certified copies of all qualifications must be produced at time of interview.
