The Principal Research & Insights Officer is responsible for: 

  • Leading the Research and Insights business unit in driving research innovation and insights in the context of the Commission's work.
  • Coordinating and managing multiple major Research and Insights projects and Commission officers allocated to those projects.
  • Using high level analytical and conceptual skills, especially in the context of designing and carrying out Research and Insights projects.
  • Providing high level methodological and analytical advice within the context of the Commission's work.
  • Using data to create insights for various stakeholders
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, particularly in relation to obtaining data and disseminating findings.
  • Communicating with influence the outcomes and insights of research.
  • Guiding and assisting other staff in writing reports and producing visualisations suitable for multiple audiences, arising out of the research.
  • Contributing to the professional development of other research and insights officers.

 

Qualifications/ Professional Registrations/ Other Requirements:

  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in information technology, computing or another related fields is highly desirable.  
  • Qualifications acquired from an overseas educational institution will only be accepted where the qualification has been recognised to an equivalent level in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
  • Certified copies of all qualifications must be produced at time of interview.
