The Strategy, Innovation and Insights Division within the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) is seeking a team member to fulfil the role of the Senior Strategy and Innovation Officer. This role works with the Director, Strategy and Innovation, to deliver a range of responsibilities that aim to prepare and drive the CCC into the future, including: strategic business planning throughout the annual strategic planning cycle; portfolio assessment, management and monitoring of strategic business initiatives; innovation initiatives and capability development; and strategy development, implementation and monitoring, including digital and innovation strategies.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate capability in the following requirements:

Critical thinking capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to flex your thinking in a range of activities, including:
    • business activities or projects that require creative thinking, different ways of working and undertaking untried approaches;
    • experience in the application of systems thinking; and
    • experience working on business activities or projects that must comply with standards, whole-of-government or agreed business requirements.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills including: the ability to identify problems; the ability to openly explore, question and seek to understand; the ability to identify alternative solutions worth pursuing; and the ability to identify appropriate pathways to implement solutions.

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting

  • Experience in the active monitoring, evaluation and reporting of organisational initiatives or programs.
  • Highly developed ability in gathering, synthesising and analysing data and information from various sources; identify trends and emerging issues; develop insights from data and information; develop and deliver stories that explain insights.
  • Communicate insights in various ways including visualisations, dashboards and presentations. Experience using business intelligence and analytics software (for example, Power BI) or visualisation/design software is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of government planning and performance reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting a strategy function in the development of organisational strategies and action plans is highly desirable.

Project planning, development and delivery

  • Experience in initiating, planning, developing and delivering business activities or projects that contribute to organisational goals and objectives.
  • Experience working within a team to deliver various and diverse, yet interconnected business activities and projects.

Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills that enables collaboration, co-design and effective stakeholder engagement with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly developed written communication skills, including experience in producing high quality information that enables leadership decision making and fosters employee and stakeholder engagement and understanding.
