The Senior Case Manager (Rural and Remote High Risk Team) is based in a district office/reporting centre and reports to the District Manager.

The position ensures a high level of community safety through the case management of adults subject to orders within the community.

The position acts in accordance with assessed risk and need and maintains high standards of assessment practices that facilitate effective supervision, and improved reintegration and rehabilitation of individuals subject to community based orders.

The position will also support the management team in the region by acting as coach and mentor to team members undertaking probation and parole case management.

In this role you will:
 Establish and maintain productive multiagency working relationships that promote collaboration, integrated responses to domestic and family violence cases within rural and remote locations.
  Design, implement and review responses to domestic and family violence and strengthen protocols, tools and referral pathways with relevant agencies to ensure individuals experiencing domestic and family violence can easily access appropriate support and assistance.
  Develop reporting systems to monitor and evaluate the Domestic and Family Violence Integrated Response.
  Execute responsibilities in accordance with governance mechanisms to deliver compliance and support continuous business improvement, with legislation, agency policies, and procedures and standards of practice.
  Apply knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures and protocols having regard and sensitivity for specific cultural issues, customs and behaviours.
  Supervise and manage a caseload of diverse and high risk adults subject to orders of the court and probation (including sexual, violent and other priority groups.
  Conduct initial and progressive assessments of risk, intervention needs, and program suitability; determine plans and programs to meet conditions of community based orders.
  Identify and respond to identified risk arising from assessments including liaison and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  Prepare high quality assessment documents and reports and undertake quality control of associated assessment documents.
  Undertake direct interaction with a caseload of high risk adults (including sexual, violent and other priority groups), including drug testing of individuals and maintaining accurate statistics.
  Develop, coordinate, monitor and facilitate intervention strategies and plans in accordance with assessed risk and need and to address behaviours and attitudinal change in individuals.
  Ensure supervision practice and monitoring of individuals is compliant with orders and contributes to ensuring high level community safety.
  Undertake interaction with individuals subject to orders, including conducting drug testing and contributing to case management and sentence management activities.
  Prepare reports and maintain and update records/ information using manual and electronic systems to ensure access to accurate, current and relevant details in regard to individuals.
  Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, service providers, community members and networks.
  Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and other operational areas to enhance the process for the management of adults subject to community based orders and execute duties as an officer of the Court
  Liaise with and establish where appropriate, culturally specific stakeholder groups to enhance the case management process for individuals.
  Ensure professional liaison with and the provision of accurate and timely information to Courts, Boards, Correctional Centres, District Offices and other agencies relating to the management of individuals. 
Mandatory Qualifications, Conditions and Requirements
While there are no mandatory qualifications for the role, demonstrated skills and experience in a case management role and knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the Probation and Parole Case Management Framework is highly desirable.
The incumbent may be required to work outside of normal work hours and to travel throughout the region. Public transport is not available therefore possession of a valid C class licence is required.applications.
