Principal Adviser Clinical Support
High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; Brisbane
The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole.
The Principal Advisor, Clinical Support role delivers and supervises the delivery of specialist assessments and operational case management advice for high risk offenders in Community Corrections.
The role also provides support functions including coaching and mentoring for colleagues, quality assurance, training and monitoring and evaluation of performance.

In this role you will:
-Ensure assigned assessments of offenders are administered properly, appropriately supervised, assessment results analysed and information recorded the Integrated Offender Management System (IOMS).
-Provide advice to relevant probation and parole officers or management regarding case management and/or other intervention activities.
-Provide high level advice for Supervisors and Case Managers in their management of high risk offenders or case management issues.
-Manage preparation of reports, submissions, briefs and other correspondence.
-Conduct supervision activities with professional staff.
-Provide high level clinical advice in relation to the management and treatment of high risk offenders.
-Manage the security and confidentiality of records and information in accordance with Information Privacy Standards.
-Assist with the development and implementation of innovative and practical strategies, which support best practice in integrated offender management.
-Monitor and audit offender management practices and records to ensure quality, continuity and consistency and assess compliance of operational sites with quality assurance indicators and internal standards.
-Provide advice or participate in District Office team meetings and/or case conferences pertaining to management of high risk offenders as required.
-Coordinate and deliver relevant education and training that builds the capacity and capability of managers and staff in the supervision of sexual offenders.
-Collaborate with the Principal Adviser, Clinical Training, HROMU and the Principal Adviser, Training Probation and Parole to ensure consistency in approach of education and training materials generated to support QCS.
