About you 

The Intern (Assistant Network Engineer) is responsible for: 

  • Providing assistance to team members with the day-to-day operational issues of Infrastructure Management in:

    • Level 2 and Level 3 support
    • Server monitoring and management
    • Storage and Communication device management
    • Data Centre management
    • Capacity Planning
    • Patch management
    • ICT Disaster Recovery
    • ICT Service Continuity Management
  • Assisting the Senior Network Engineer with the development of plans and budgets, and reporting to the Senior Network Engineer on the performance of infrastructure against plans, and performance standards.

  • Assisting and participating in the project management responsibilities for small ICT projects in accordance with Prince 2.

  • Assisting with research projects into specialist areas and liaising with senior members of the team regarding the provision of advice for ICT within the Commission.

  • Other activities as required and delegated by your manager.

Appointees to this role must be full-time or part-time students who have substantially progressed (third or fourth year) in a degree relevant to the role – e.g., Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Science (with IT/networking/telecommunications or software major).
