An exciting opportunity is available for an AO4, Policy Support Officer to join the Economic Policy team at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
As a Policy Support Officer in Economic Policy, you will work under the guidance of senior officers to support the development and implementation of integrated policies, legislation, and programs for Queensland.
You will be a member of a small, dynamic team responsible for providing policy advice on the portfolio areas of education, training and skills, industrial relations and public sector workforce.
As part of a central agency, you will work in partnership with our stakeholders across government to deliver best practice policy advice to the Premier, Cabinet, Cabinet Budget Review Committee and various other Cabinet Committees.
Your key responsibilities
- Assist in identifying, researching, and analysing complex national and international policy issues with a view to developing options and prepare advice on major policy initiatives.
- Prepare or contribute to the preparation of timely and well researched submissions, briefs, and notes on complex issues, including Cabinet submissions.
- Assist senior policy officers with preparations for inter-departmental, intergovernmental, or other meetings and attend as required.
- Support senior policy officers and other agencies to develop strategies to pursue the Government's intergovernmental priorities.
- Liaise and collaborate within the division, department, other relevant government agencies and the Federal and other state and territories on policy issues, maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
