Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

About the Role

Due to an internal promotion, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Coordinator to join the Cross River Rail project working from our corporate office located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD on a fixed term contract until the 30th of April 2023. Reporting to the Manager, Office and Facilities the Facilities Coordinator will provide support on all elements of managing an office day to day. Previous direct facilities coordination experience isn't required but a sound knowledge of the office working environment and eagerness to learn is essential. This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator or executive assistant to expand their skill set in a role where no two days are the same.

Duties include:

  • Manage facilities inbox / ticketing system to ensure issues raised are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Manage the facilities budget including purchase requisitions, good receipting.
  • Assist in planning and carrying out office relocations and setting up of new office spaces and facilities.
  • Coordinate and problem solve maintenance matters and building related services, including planning and delivering installations, refurbishments, maintenance and repairs.
  • Monthly reporting on facilities activities and expenditure.
  • Coordinate and maintain equipment registers.
  • Maintain and coordinate contractor and service provider relationships including cleaning, stationery and shredding.

 About You

  • Critical thinker with a solution focused mindset.
  • Problem solver who thinks on their feet and has an ability to pivot into whatever is required each day to make an office run smoothly.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload to undertake multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of general building and facilities service and related trades with proven ability to problem solve.
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software suite with ability to create fit for purpose correspondence, reports, policies and procedures.
