The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of the DES digital strategy and champion the delivery of innovative work practices across the department. This will include providing guidance and recommendations to project managers and other stakeholders regarding the management of digital projects and researching contemporary digital and ICT solutions.

The Senior Project Officer, AO5 is a role in which you will
• Champion innovation and digital transformation across the department by supporting the establishment of a clear pathway to improve the digital capability and organisational performance through delivery and management of a departmental strategy, digital investment plan, digital action plans and delivery of critical programs and projects.
• Contribute to the effective conduct of ICT governance committee meetings by providing agenda management, meeting coordination and support to committee chairs, and assist with preparation and monitoring of ministerial and executive briefs through the Ministerial and Executive Correspondence System (MECS) to ensure high quality standards and timeframes are met.
• Research information, add new pages, update existing pages and maintain relevant SharePoint sites. Provide technical expertise with electronic media, Word, Excel, email and various web based programs, as required.
• Research, evaluate and prepare information including for presentations for internal and external audiences utilising Microsoft Office Suite or other programs as required.
• Coordinate seminars, meetings and conferences for the program of work involving various internal and external stakeholders and rapidly develop and continually maintain effective professional working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure resolution to issues and quality work outcomes.
• Maintain and look for opportunities to improve office information and records systems to ensure that matters are properly progressed and completed in line with the department's record keeping policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Provide quality advice and guidance to staff at all levels on innovation and Digital Strategy process and procedures and maintain tact and diplomacy in managing confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
