Community Corrections, a service of Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is devoted to delivering evidence-informed case management and individualised support to people in the community under a variety of supervision orders imposed by the courts and Parole Board Queensland.

Community Corrections aims to protect the community and reduce reoffending, providing tailored supervision to meet the individual risks and needs of individuals with the aims of rehabilitation, reintegration and the opportunity to lead a crime free life.

Who are we looking for?

A career as a probation services officer with Community Corrections is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference in your community. As a probation services officer you support a high level of community safety by ensuring compliance with the reporting requirements and conditions of community-based orders and reparation orders. You also undertake court administration duties for your district office and actively maintain community networks and stakeholder relationships to ensure sustainable community service projects.

As a probation services officer, you require: 

  • Planning and organising skills to ensure tasks are completed within deadlines
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Interpersonal and negotiation skills to support service delivery in an environment where engagement with a range of internal and external stakeholders is critical
  • Awareness of how to manage sensitive/confidential issues and information, and a commitment to comply with legislative provisions
  • Strong communication skills and experience with conducting difficult conversations, problem solving and negotiating resolutions

To be eligible for this role you must:

  • Hold a valid driver's licence
