Are you passionate about wildlife conservation and possess a talent for strategic leadership?

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships Division (QPWS&P) is seeking an innovative and experienced individual to join us as the Director, Threatened Species Operations. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development, delivery, and support of the DESI Threatened Species Program across Queensland, safeguarding our precious biodiversity for generations to come.

As the Director, you will provide decisive strategic leadership and operational backing to Three dedicated teams: Threatened Species Research and Monitoring, Threatened Species Coordination and the Threatened Species Connect team. 

You will drive the advancement of conservation-focused programs, ensuring that operational plans are implemented proficiently to produce agreed environmental outcomes that align with the division's goals. Your expertise will guide the management of complex work tasks, while your communication and collaboration skills will enhance inter-agency relations, promoting the delivery of customer-focused, quality services. Working with us, you will have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the protection and recovery of threatened species throughout the state.

We are searching for a candidate with a solid background in environment or science, excellent management skills, and a strong understanding of conservation challenges.
