Normanton State School is a P–10 school, and you may be required to teach across year levels.

Rural and Remote Housing Incentive Scheme (RRHIS) - Eligible participants include newly appointed or transferring teachers and school leaders commencing their tenure at designated state schools. Permission to Teach and department interns (Trade to Teach and Turn to Teaching) are eligible. You are not eligible if you already reside within 50 minutes of an eligible school. The scheme includes provisions for initial temporary accommodation paid upfront by the department, followed by a taxable rental allowance aligned with the teacher's weekly rent expenses. While availability of department-provided teacher housing is prioritised, alternative accommodation solutions through the rental market are facilitated where necessary and available.

  • Full or provisional Queensland teacher registration. More info.
  • Pre-service teachers must complete their course and meet department requirements.
  • Australian working rights or a valid visa.
