Position is located in Brisbane and the successful candidate will need to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement upon commencement to reflect the office location you are seeking to work from. If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office will be required regularly (frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil operational business needs.

Key outcomes/Accountabilities

The aim of this role is to:

  • Development and evolution of the organisation's social media strategy to ensure that Social Media is being leveraged to be a significant communications channel, taking traffic from face-to-face and call centre channels.
  • Research, develop, implement and evaluate social media plans and campaigns for a range of communications programs and projects, within allocated budget and established timeframes.
  • Proactively develop and contribute to the development of content and rich media for the Commission's social media channels and other forms of multimedia.
  • Maintain expertise and operational knowledge of current and emergent social media trends, technologies and practices, and provide advice to internal stakeholders using knowledge and expertise of social media best practice.
  • Manage the Commission's online reputation, using social media experience and specialist expertise when responding to high risk, sensitive and/or political conversations in public forums such as the QBCC's social media pages.
  • Produce regular reports showing analysis and interpretation of the Commission's social media activities, and sentiment to maximise effectiveness and inform the Commission's future social media direction.
  • Educate and provide social media training to relevant internal staff to ensure consistency of tone and approach to social media engagement.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships and positive working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform out-of-hours social media moderation operations and responsibilities as part of an ‘on-call' roster and contribute to the Commission's Disaster Management responsibilities when required.

Candidate attributes

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Ability to develop social media strategies and best practice implementation to deliver creative and engaging social media content in a large organisation, including rich media.
  2. Proficiency in the use of online social media engagement, monitoring and reporting tools, content management systems, survey tools and data collection processes, Adobe creative suite tools, e.g. Photoshop
  3. Ability to source and develop engaging social media content relevant to target audiences.
  4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships to influence a diverse range of stakeholders in a customer focused environment.
