The Employee Relations Team in the Human Resource Branch in the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) are seeking passionate HR professionals with Industrial Relations and or Case Management experience to join the Employee Relations (ER) Team.
The Industrial Relations and Case Management teams in the Employee Relations (ER) unit of the Human Resources Branch, provide specialist advice on all employment and industrial matters across TMR. Our purpose is to partner with the business providing high level advice and support and ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation, departmental policies and procedures.
In the role of HR Advisor (Employee Relations) you will support the team in providing strategic, tactical and operational advice and to managers, supervisors, local HR teams and decision makers on a diverse range of contemporary ER issues.

In the role of Human Resources Advisor (Employee Relations) you will provide high-quality support to the HR Case Management Team and the Industrial Relations Team to assist the teams in delivering strategic advice to our business partners and stakeholders on a diverse range of employee relations matters.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide timely and accurate administrative support to members of the case management team.
• Provide timely and accurate administrative support throughout TMR's enterprise bargaining periods and implementation.
• Assist in the development of critical case management and industrial relations documents, including briefing notes, reports, discipline documents, internal review documentation, and Queensland Industrial Relations Commission related material.
• Liaise with branch managers and directors to discuss IR matters and Case Management matters, including providing guidance and support particularly relating to certified agreement and negotiation matters, and complex employee matters.
• To lead and manage monthly and bi-annual Conduct and Performance Excellence Reporting on behalf of TMR.
• Assist in monitoring and developing case management advice through the team's critical email channels.
• Manage and monitor conflicting accountabilities by showing initiative, taking responsibility to achieve tasks and adapting to a changing environment and client expectations.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• There are no mandatory qualifications for this role. However, TMR values the enhanced work performance which may be gained from the expanded knowledge base and skills acquired during tertiary training and encourages both existing and potential staff to participate in life-long learning.
• The possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, law, human resources or a related field will be well regarded.
• Membership and/or certification with the Australian Human Resources Institute/Queensland Industrial Relations Society would be well regarded.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
