As the Executive Support Officer you will perform the following role responsibilities
Human Resources
- Provide Human Resources (including Workplace Health and Safety) support in providing advice to employees relating to human resource policies and procedures.
- Assist in recruitment and selection as well as working together with Human Resources, Corporate Services and the Office of the Deputy Director-General.
Finance
- Provide financial support processing invoices, payments, travel and accommodation bookings, catering and venue coordination.
- Monitor budget corrects financial anomalies and reports monthly.
Corporate Governance
- Assistance may be required to manage the flow of incoming and outgoing correspondence through the department's ministerial and executive correspondence system (MECS) in a complex and sensitive work environment to ensure timelines, quality control and corporate identity requirements met.
- Assistance may be required to coordinate Cabinet and Parliament requests for briefs (including estimates), PPQ's, QoN's, etc. and develop processes to monitor the progression of these documents.
In addition to these functions, may be required to
- Provide support for team members and manager as required, in relation to project activities and general administrative activities.
- Assist with the coordination of facilities, telecommunications and IT related activities.
- Assist in branch training and education by coordinating course nominations and supporting branch forums and workshops through providing branch specific content.
- Provide monthly reporting and statistics
- Support the Executive Officer in the coordination of whole of division projects and initiatives including monitoring project progress and reporting.
- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

This position requires:
- Demonstrates skills and experience in human resource management and finance management.
- Demonstrates ability to manage competing priorities to completion, flexible to change and responsive to a dynamic and fast paced working environment.
- Demonstrates professionalism and integrity in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, internal and external to government that achieve positive and ensuring outcomes for all parties.
- High-level skills or ability to rapidly acquire high-level skills in the use of departmental systems relating to corporate governance, finance, human resource, in particular SAP Finance; Fusion/Aurion, QSS applications and MECs.
- Contribution to workplace equity and diversity that enriches our culture of safety, innovation, respect and inclusion.

Eligibility requirements
Citizenship/Visa - To be eligible for employment in this position, you must be an Australian citizen,have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work.
