You will assist biomedical technicians to provide repairs, planned maintenance, installation/de-installation and other services for a wide range of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment. This may include working under indirect supervision following training.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with staff, clients and external agencies.
  • Ability to gain and apply technical knowledge and skills necessary to assist biomedical technicians to service and support a range of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment.
  • Numeracy, literacy and computer skills to an adequate level to order and receive goods, process delivery documents, work orders and accurately enter information by keyboard into computer databases.
  • Ability to work as a team member to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • A current C Class Driver's License is required.
  • Travel, Shift Rostering and On-call requirements: BTS is committed to providing appropriate services at all times to health facilities throughout the state, consequently staff may (following consultation) be required to transfer to another work location, participate in 24 hour shift arrangements, on-call and weekend rosters, occasional overtime, and to travel throughout Queensland for periods of up to approximately two weeks at a time. Note: There is little or no overnight travel for most Technical Support Officer roles

  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR),varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough),hepatitis B, tuberculosis
