Your role within Queensland Government Accommodation Office will support the department to sustainably manage a significant building and residential portfolio, including office accommodation, government employee residences, convention centres, heritage buildings, bridges, statues, and other property assets. Reporting to the Principal Asset Manager, the Senior Asset Manager is responsible for supporting the maintenance and upgrade components of the Government Employee Housing (GEH) portfolio to facilitate its smooth and efficient management across the State.

What you will be doing:
• Provide high level asset management support and recommendations to the maintenance and upgrade components of the GEH portfolio.
• Plan, develop, implement and manage maintenance and upgrade programs within agreed timeframes and budget.
• Ensure properties maintain operational efficiency, achieve occupational standards, meet statutory requirements, Department guidelines and are fit for purpose.
• Analyse condition assessment and inspection reports, verifying data and prioritising maintenance and upgrade work programs to enhance the quality and condition of the GEH portfolio.
• Provide technical advice to the team and be a “subject matter expert” for maintenance and upgrades on housing and unit complexes.
• Assist to develop, implement and improve policies, guidelines and processes to ensure effective asset management and facilitate continuous improvement of the asset portfolio.
• Respond to correspondence, briefings, reports and information papers for ministerial, CEO Governance Committee and departmental requirements.
• Contribute to undertaking research and analysis on portfolio asset management issues including benchmarking, feasibility studies, impacts of emerging industry trends and technology, supply projections and scenario planning to support capital investment decisions and government employee accommodation solutions.
• Undertake special projects as directed by the Management Team.
• Consult with agencies, local government, industry and community representatives establishing professional networks.
• Manage a standalone Microsoft excel system where you will be required to maintain the system ensuring all macros, queries and connections are running correctly.
• Actively contribute and lead as a member of the Maintenance and Upgrades team and the wider GEH team.
