Clinical Director - Princess Alexandra Hospital (Adult Mental Health)

Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services are looking for a Clinical Director to join the Adult Mental Health team at Princess Alexandra Department, to lead their ED and Inpatients team. This role will provide high quality psychiatric services and demonstrate clinical leadership to Mental Health ED and Inpatient Departments within the Division of Mental Health Services at Princess Alexandra Hospital. The successful candidate will provide strong clinical leadership and support the strategic direction for high quality service provision within Princess Alexandra Hospital catchment area.

About the Role
- Provides direct psychiatric clinical services to consumers of mental health in Princess Alexandra Hospital and will lead Community Mental Health Teams in delivering high quality clinical care to patients within the MSAMHS.
- Provide high level of clinical leadership in clinical care provision and in the development and review of clinical practice and of procedures, protocols and policies that support the provision of appropriate, evidence based, timely and seamless care for consumers within mental health services, Princess Alexandra Hospital.
- Contribute to the body of professional knowledge through presentations at local, state, national and international meetings and by publications in peer reviewed journals.
- Participate in professional development activities for all members of the multi-disciplinary Mental Health team
- Adhere to the role of Authorised Psychiatrist and Clinical Director role provisions as per the Mental Health Act 2016 e.g. completion of legal reports including psychiatrist Reports and Mental Health Review Tribunal (MHRT) reports in a timely manner and attendances in MHRT meetings.
- Foster an environment of education, quality improvement, evidence-based practice and reflective feedback and learning.
- Provide supervision/teaching opportunities to Registrars, Junior Medical Staff, RANCZP trainees and other professional staff within the Service.
- Demonstrate capacity to provide leadership in relation to research, learning and evaluation activity.
