Program Director
Transformation Office; Brisbane
The Transformation Office provides oversight, governance and project management capability into priority projects across the Queensland Police Service (QPS), focused on designing and implementing transformation for major benefits to the organisation and community.
The Program Director has responsibility to provide exceptional program and project management skills to lead and oversee the development and hands on delivery of initiatives across a large-scale program of work, working in collaboration with key stakeholders in achieving key outcomes. You will work across a range of high-profile priority projects across QPS.

You will have proven experience leading and operationalising the delivery of largescale, complex programs across a geographically dispersed workforce and operations. Alongside your depth of technical expertise and relevant qualifications you will demonstrate an alignment with the QPS values.

In this role, you will be undertaking significant interaction and consultation with stakeholders.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Apply appropriate project management techniques, strategies, methodologies and tools to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered, and costs and timeframes are managed effectively.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and scoping, negotiate and problem solve with internal and external stakeholders, across all levels and diverse functional areas.
• Ensure appropriate governance, reporting, investment and project management practices are applied across all projects within the program are aligned with the QPS Project Management Framework.
• Identify and report key delivery risks and implement controls to ensure risk management and mitigation in delivering projects and achieving the benefits.
• Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures to ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces, aligned to strategy.
• Build, influence and sustain partnerships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders and negotiate outcomes to support the achievement of program and project deliverables.
• Ensure appropriate communication and change management by collaborating with business partners on operational change and the impact assessment on risk control frameworks, people, technology and processes.
• Lead, develop and manage program and project team members providing support, assistance, and direction on work priorities.
Role Requirements
Qualifications
• Relevant tertiary and/or project management qualifications and 8+ years proven experience of program and project management within a large and complex organisation.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
• Exposure to, and specialty in, one or more key operational or functional areas: police operations or other 24/7 operational environment, IT, policy/legislation, safety, property/facilities/infrastructure, mobile assets, procurement, finance and human resources.
