The opportunity:
As our Project Officer you will:
• Manage the workflow of briefings, correspondence, domestic and overseas travel requests and other requests for information to and from the General Manager, Directors and Team Leaders within Horticulture and Forestry Science in line with established priorities; and monitor important issues and follow up when required.
• Provide confidential support to the General Manager in a fast-paced and sensitive working environment including the management of calendars and organization of on-line (Teams) and in-person meetings, workshops and events. Monitor and screen incoming calls for the General Manager from within the department, other Government departments and from other external sources.
• Maintain effective time management practices whilst arranging appointments, meetings (including venues), travel arrangements and accommodation; receiving visitors; coordinating diary appointments; prioritising correspondence; and preventing unnecessary interruptions by managing communications, including emails.
• Effectively manage all aspects of domestic travel, accommodation and meeting arrangements for the General Manager and senior Directorate staff, Horticulture and Forestry Science.

This role requires a high level of accuracy in all correspondence and administrative skills, and an understanding of the confidentiality involved with the role. You will have a keen eye for detail, great time management and effective problem-solving skills.
