We're looking for a strategic, collaborative and values-driven Principal Policy Officer to join the Regional Policy Coordination team and help deliver the Regional Collaborative Governance Model (the Model). This fixed-term, full-time opportunity plays a critical role in driving place-based outcomes for Queensland's regions by working across government and community to identify, govern and respond to regional priorities. As a key contributor to the Regional and Rural Development division, you'll partner with Queensland Government agencies and other governance levels to promote regionally responsive leadership, enhance collaboration and foster better understanding of place-based challenges.
Your day-to-day will include:
• Providing strategic, high-quality advice on complex regional priorities
• Researching, analysing and interpreting policy data to inform decision-making
• Preparing briefing notes, reports and papers that support executive leadership and cabinet submissions
• Implementing fit-for-purpose reporting to monitor progress and highlight risks and achievements
• Working with regional partners to maintain momentum across collaborative governance
• Supporting regional governance bodies and leading inter-agency collaboration
• Contributing to leadership discussions with insight, professionalism and innovation
• You'll be part of a supportive team of 8 and report to the Manager, Business Services and Governance.
What we're looking for
We're seeking a self-motivated policy expert who thrives in complex, multistakeholder environments. You'll bring excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and an ability to build productive relationships across agencies. Experience in regional or place based policy is highly regarded.
