The Role
Working in the Office of the Deputy Director-General (DDG) Corporate, you will provide efficient, effective, and confidential administrative and operational support to the DDG, as well as general assistance to the Corporate Leadership team (CLT). This is a temporary part-time opportunity until 9 January 2026 as part of a job share arrangement 2 days per week.
The office of the DDG is a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with tight deadlines and competing priorities. The Corporate area manages the corporate functions within the department, ensuring the successful delivery of programs for the people of Queensland. We achieve this through collaboration, efficiency, and a strong commitment to compliance.
Key responsibilities and personal attributes include:
• Provide high level confidential and client-focused secretarial and executive support to the DDG CS in a fast-paced and sensitive working environment - including monitoring emails, file management, accurate keyboard services and proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Provide high level administrative services including undertaking effective, timely and proactive management and maintenance of the DDG CS's emails and appointment diary including coordination of quality and comprehensive responses to request for information and advice on behalf of the DDG CS.
• Support the Executive in a range of tasks, including providing dedicated project support on high priority emergent business such as meeting Division reporting responsibilities, and assisting with Right to Information requests.
• Liaise and negotiate with the group's management team, departmental officers, CLLO office and executive government staff to facilitate quality outcomes and assist in the smooth running of the office.
• Maintain a high level of understanding of departmental activities, services, organisation arrangements and protocols and provide advice to the DDG CS and Executive Manager on current and emerging issues.
• Manage and provide day-to-day oversight and assistance to the Executive Assistants within Corporate Services as needed.
• Research and prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes and other correspondence in relation to a range of issues where necessary to support the Division.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with intraagency, inter-agency and external stakeholders to ensure effective outcomes
• Other duties as directed and required.

• There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, experience or capability to work with ICT staff, systems and concepts as part of a small team providing direction and support in this space would be highly regarded.
