This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team within a QPS Executive Office, at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner – Disaster & Emergency Management. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Executive to help shape the strategic direction of the organisation. This role requires exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will be required to liaise with and foster relationships with senior management and external stakeholders.

You will be a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a passion for contributing to the success of the organisation, driving outcomes from start to finish.

Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Provide high level advice on the development and implementation of strategic and operational performance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Research, develop, implement and evaluate strategies, plans and procedures that support corporate and operational activities and align with strategic objectives and governance guidelines.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of procedures and workflows.
  • Contribute to projects and provide regular advice and reports on project milestones.
  • Prepare high quality reports, presentations, and briefings for, and on behalf of the Deputy, and perform secretariat roles on committees and forums as required.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance business practices and service delivery.

  • While there are no mandatory requirements for this role relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven experience project management within a large and complex organisation will be highly regarded.
