Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Carry out service, mechanical repairs and inspections to various marine diesel engines including Detroit, Scania, Cummins, Perkins and various ancillary
components.
• Diagnose faults, including mechanical, electrical, on marine engines and ancillary equipment by use expertise, electronic diagnostic equipment and by way of sea trials.
• Perform removal and installation of marine diesel engine components and works involved in the maintaining and servicing of large horsepower vessels and the fit out of ancillary systems specific to police vessels as required.
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on vessels including electronics, plumbing and fuel systems.
• Perform tasks involving the use of computers (including word processing), update parts inventories, stock supplies, job sheets and computer databases.
• Provide verbal and written evidentiary statements for investigations and reporting to Coroner.
Role Requirements
Mandatory
• Possession of trade certificate qualifications as a Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
• Possession of a current Queensland driver's license Class C with manual endorsement or equivalent license.
Qualification Certificate III (Diesel Fitter/Diesel Mechanic)
• Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience Minimum of three years' experience as a tradesperson preferably in the marine engine environment.
Other
• Role requires regular travel throughout Queensland.
