As Principal Advisor (Workplace Health & Safety Assurance), you will be part of a team of skilled WHS professionals working in partnership with a diverse range of clients and business areas across the organisation.
You will provide support to Officers to assist in meeting safety due diligence obligations and expert advice on safety risk management. You will also lead safety governance, monitoring and assurance activities for TMR.

About us:
The Workplace Health, Safety and Rehabilitation (WHSR) team within Human Resources Branch in Corporate Division manages WHSR capability and business partnering, WHS governance and assurance, workplace mental health and wellbeing and the WHSR safety management system, including reporting for TMR.
About the Role:
The purpose of the Principal Advisor (WHS Assurance) role is to lead and manage the delivery of WH&S assurance, governance and risk management practices across TMR.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide expert advice on, and assist with the preparation and dissemination of presentations, reports and papers in relation to safety governance, WHS risk management and assurance activities.
• Maintain the WHS due diligence framework and lead the delivery of training and support to Officers in TMR to discharge their due diligence obligations.
• Lead and manage the WHS Governance and Assurance team.
Skills & Experience:
• Demonstrated knowledge of assurance, governance and risk management practices preferably within a WHS setting in a large organisation.
• Experience in collaborating and engaging senior leaders and business areas to support strategic and purposeful safety management.
• Demonstrated of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to tailor communication style to a range of internal and external stakeholders, such as communication of technical content to senior leaders.
• Experience in leading and managing a team, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.
