The Director, Portfolio Management, is responsible for the improved oversight of the QAS’s portfolio functions through monitoring, support, education, reporting and improvement. This role will play a lead role in the development, implementation, evaluation and optimisation of processes and systems to ensure effective portfolio management within the QAS.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a variety of improvement activities to support contemporary portfolio management capability across the QAS.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
• Advanced leadership skills with demonstrated capabilities and proven experience in managing and overseeing a portfolio of work, including understanding the legislative and policy framework, governance and compliance requirements within the public sector.
• Proven success in the development and implementation of practical, efficient and effective governance arrangements in respect to portfolio management.
• Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the ability to foster and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
• Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to coordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes and accountabilities.
• Demonstrated high level knowledge and application of project and change management frameworks and methodologies.
• Demonstrated capabilities and experience in implementing organisational change and service system reform in a complex operational environment with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
• Whilst not mandatory, tertiary, or postgraduate qualification/s in a business-related discipline will be highly regarded.
• The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class driver's licence may be required.
