Senior Project Officer, Land Modernisation

Based in Brisbane (with flexibility for other NRMMRRD offices), this AO6 Senior Project Officer role sits in the Land Modernisation team and supports the transformation of Queensland’s land administration services. This role is perfect for someone with strong project management skills, a strategic mindset and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deliver practical reforms.
Our Land division are the stewards for 60% of the land in Queensland and we deliver a variety of land and property services across Queensland, including land and asset
valuations; state land administration and on ground management surveying services; native title claims and compensation; Indigenous land services; vegetation
management; place names; and government land acquisitions.

As a Senior Project Officer in the Land Modernisation team, you'll be part of the exciting work to transform how land is administered in Queensland. Each day, you'll support the delivery of innovative projects that modernise systems and processes, making them more efficient, customer-focused and future-ready. You'll work with policy and operational experts to design solutions, plan project activities, and manage delivery within budget, schedule and quality standards.
Your role will include contributing to work plans, identifying priorities, and providing advice to the Manager on project progress. You'll monitor milestones, identify blockages and propose solutions that keep projects on track. Preparing briefing notes, reports, business requirements and project documentation will also form part of your daily responsibilities, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed and decisions are supported by clear analysis.
Collaboration will be a central part of your role. You'll build strong relationships with colleagues across the department, as well as external stakeholders and service providers, to ensure projects are delivered smoothly and outcomes are practical and effective. By engaging stakeholders early and often, you'll help embed changes that support the modernisation of land services and improve customer experiences.
