Rangers undertake a variety of field and office-based work, contributing to the management of Queensland’s protected areas. You’ll assist the Ranger in Charge to plan and deliver the annual works program, while also leading a small team of rangers. Your work will focus on fire and pest management, maintaining plant and infrastructure, and protecting the natural environment. You’ll also collaborate with First Nations peoples to manage and care for their cultural lands. The Ideal Candidate:
· Displays a keen interest in conservation and land management.
· Participating in prescribed burning, fuel reduction and wildfire
· Practical skills and experience in the maintenance and operation of heavy - minor plant and equipment and tools for asset maintenance is desirable.
· Manage small projects, undertake compliance and perform various natural and cultural resource management duties
· Exhibits strong organisational skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks with precision.
· Ability to support and share skills with a diverse group of people
