Manager
Investment and Commissioning (PDFV); Families, Seniors and Carers; Commissioning; Brisbane
This position sits within the Commissioning Division that is responsible for ensuring the government invests in the right programs to meet the needs of people experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence and hold persons using violence to account and support them to change their behaviour.
You will contribute to the implementation of a transformational commissioning plan that will guide the divisions investment approach for the next five years. You will lead a team to deliver service design, development and implementation of departmental and whole-of-government programs and projects aimed at strengthening the domestic, family and sexual violence services delivery.
You can expect to lead a team to deliver a variety of procurement activity with most projects and programs having an outsourced service delivery element.

The Division uses Procure to Invest (P2i System) and Smartygrants systems to create and manage contracts and grants.
You will have experience in using contemporary leadership practices to guide a team to meet the strategic objectives of the business unit, department and government.
You will have a track record of delivering projects on time and in budget, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic and changing environment.
The role will suit a person with exceptional communication skills, and extensive experience working across government departments, non-government organisations
and the private sector with a proven track record in developing and maintaining productive relationships.
As the Manager, you will:
- Lead a program of work that involves multiple projects, analysis of complex programs and related issues, formulation and analysis of innovative options for solutions, including the development and procurement of new programs and services.
- Empower and mobilise the talents of a team of program officers through contemporary leadership practices.
- Liaise, negotiate and develop effective networks and innovative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies and community organisations.
- Provide advice, analysis and direction on issues and trends relating to significant Departmental and Government policy and program initiatives and associated priorities to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present a high volume of high-quality briefs, reports, correspondence, papers, and submissions on complex issues to senior executive and the Minister.
- Represent the department in negotiating and delivering solutions to emergent, competing and challenging issues.
- Establish and maintain review systems, mechanisms and reports to effectively monitor the progress and outcomes of programs and partnership activities.
Role specific/technical skills:
- Demonstrated awareness of the historical and contemporary impacts of philosophies, policies and practices regarding gendered violence against women.
