We are on the lookout for a Manager (Network Optimisation Planning) who will play a critical role in leading and shaping the future of our state's road network. The Manager will provide leadership and technical expertise on the delivery of network optimisation plans to get the most out of our existing road network.
This pivotal role leads a small team of planners to develop network optimisation plans, where you will merge policy and planning with insightful evidence, dynamic stakeholder workshops, and sophisticated research and modelling activities.
We offer work/life balance through a tailored and personal flexible work arrangement that includes a hybrid working arrangement and are also offering flexibility with location of the role, with options including Brisbane, Nerang, Buderim, or Toowoomba.

The role:
This role demands a proactive individual who can spearhead the continuous enhancement of an optimisation program and pioneer new investment opportunities, to improve outcomes for road users. You will provide strategic advice and analyses that influence both internal and external stakeholders on network optimisation planning and investment decisions.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to engage in high-level strategic decisions aimed at advancing and streamlining statewide road network operations and facilitating the delivery of the branch's objectives and the department's strategic vision.
About you:
You have an extensive background in traffic operations and/or transport planning, ideally you will have a degree from a recognised tertiary institution with related content (for example, engineering, transport planning, town planning, mathematics, economics, geospatial information systems, or a numerate discipline).
To be successful in this role you'll have exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven track record of clearly articulating complex issues and proposed solutions to diverse audiences. You are proactive in fostering enduring working relationships with partners and key stakeholders, aligning these partnerships with departmental and operational objectives to drive successful outcomes. Furthermore, you are adept at identifying challenges, positively influencing delivery strategies and processes to adapt to a constantly evolving landscape, ensuring the effective delivery of programs and projects.
