The Role
As a member of the Basins' Project Management Office, you will be part of a small, dynamic, and results-oriented team. This team operates under the Great Artesian Basin Rehabilitation Program which delivers substantial funds for on-ground works to support sustainable and efficient use of the water resources of the Great Artesian Basin. In collaboration with the team, you will be responsible for implementing and
improving contract and project management procedures. You will have the opportunity to liaise with rural and other clients in relation to funding applications and contracts. You will hold skills in departmental information, record-keeping, and reporting systems, and provide authoritative advice to the team on these.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
• Implement contract management procedures in collaboration with team members, including assessment and processing of milestone payments and reporting.
• Work as a member of a team to assess and process funding applications, including liaison with landholders and other rural industry clients.
• Maintain, apply and provide authoritative advice on departmental finance, procurement and information systems that relate to team business.
• Maintain and contribute to the ongoing development of client and contract recording-keeping and databases.
• Participate in the improvement of procedures, development of project documentation and other team initiatives as an effective participant of a small team.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships and arrangements with clients and service providers to ensure smooth and timely processing of payments and other transactions.
• Other duties as directed and required.
Role Requirements
• There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, a “c” class driver's licence would be highly regarded.
• Skills in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook and Excel is highly desirable.
• Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for short periods.
