QCAT is an independent tribunal established under the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2009. QCAT plays an integral role in the Queensland justice system with a mandate to provide a quick and inexpensive avenue to resolve and determine disputes, applications, reviews and referrals in a wide range of jurisdictions.
As a Scheduling Officer, you will work within a team environment and be responsible for delivering high quality support services in planning and scheduling of hearings and mediations, doing so in a timely and accurate manner.

- Undertake accurate and timely planning and scheduling of hearing rooms, QCAT judicial officers and tribunal decision-makers, interpreters, and parties across all QCAT jurisdictions using a computerised file management system.
- Provide frontline services to service users daily, over the phone, in person and/or in court. In doing so, you will keep stakeholders at the centre of service delivery and respond to their needs in a trauma-aware and compassionate manner, ensuring the prompt resolution of enquiries, requests, issues and complaints.
- Cultivate and nurture professional and collaborative relationships based on respectful and confidential engagement with key stakeholders including QCAT judicial officers and tribunal decision-makers, government agencies, self-represented litigants, and the public.
- Take ownership of developing skills, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current practices and procedures, seeking feedback, and staying motivated when managing challenging tasks.
- Identify and take appropriate action in resolving scheduling issues with decision makers, QCAT and Magistrates Court registry staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Use, update and monitor relevant databases, digital tools, and files in line with departmental guidelines to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data.
- Make travel arrangements, provide information and support to decision makers and hearing support officers delivering tribunal services across Queensland.
- Provide general administrative support as directed by the Scheduling Manager.
- Participate in and complete QCAT initiatives, business improvements and activities to support the achievement of the QCAT business plan and strategy.
