EDQ plays a critical role in unlocking land for housing supply both in Priority Development Areas (PDAs) and on surplus Government land. The Development Services division within EDQ enables new housing, commercial and mixed-use development across Queensland through planning, development approvals and a significant infrastructure funding program.
As Senior Planner you will contribute to EDQ's goals by:
• Providing specialist strategic or statutory land use planning advice and services to facilitate outcomes.
• Preparing professional written information, interpretations, briefings, presentations and reports.
• Working with stakeholders to facilitate timely and high-quality strategic or statutory land use planning outcomes.
• Contributing to the design & implementation of communication & negotiation strategies in stakeholder engagement.
• Providing recommendations on strategic and complex land use planning and development assessment matters.
• Assisting in the preparation of advice with respect to relevant strategic land use planning related policy instruments.
• Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Fostering collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and communities of practice.
• Supporting others within own area of expertise to promote knowledge sharing.
To be successful in this role, you will have strengths in:
• Successfully providing considered advice, guidance and direction on land use challenges and associated legislation and policy
• Developed research skills and ability to prepare reports and briefing notes
• A collaborative, customer centric and outcome focused work ethic
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Tertiary qualifications in land use planning or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
