Senior Adviser

The Senior Adviser will play a key role in supporting the Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) Victims Register by providing information and updates to eligible victims, processing applications, and engaging with stakeholders to enhance victim support services. This role requires a strong understanding of victim engagement principles, legislation, and trauma-informed practice to ensure victims receive timely, accurate, and sensitive communication.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experience against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:
- Strong consultation, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive matters involving victims and justice stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly in preparing complex and sensitive reports, briefings, and policy documents.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies related to the criminal justice system and victim services.
- Experience in mentoring and supervising team members to support professional development and effective service delivery.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly in the criminal justice or victim services sector.
- Ability to analyse trends, data, and risk factors to inform service improvements and policy development.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, victims, and advocacy organisations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the over-representation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in the criminal justice system and the ability to apply culturally responsive engagement practices.
- Experience in developing and delivering training sessions to enhance awareness of victim-related issues.
