RoadTek are seeking a Principal Advisor (First Nations Engagement) to join the team. This is a permanent, full-time position and can be performed from any of the following RoadTek office locations: Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Toowoomba, Warwick, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast or Brisbane.

In the role of Principal Advisor (First Nations Engagement), your focus will be on representing and advocating for the interests and initiatives that pertains to First Nations communities, there by becoming a pivotal aspect of RoadTek's organisational ethos. Your expertise and history of engagement with First Nations peoples, communities and organisations will be critical in offering high level advice and direction across RoadTek business units.

Your contributions will be vital in strengthening RoadTek's resolve to cultivate an inclusive work environment, in alignment with TMR's Reframing the Relationship Plan. Engaging in a cooperative effort and employing a forward-thinking, outcome orientated mentality, your efforts will significantly further our shared dedication to these initiatives.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Build and maintain high-level relationships with and between First Nations people, community organisations, government entities, and other stakeholders utilising cultural knowledge and connections.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partners and stakeholders in leading and supporting initiatives to deliver quality services to, and build relationships with, RoadTek Business units and related stakeholders.
• Work with the Manager (First Nations Engagement) to achieve appropriate outcomes through the management of key port-folio areas in Indigenous Procurement and workforce initiatives and develop outputs to ensure strategic and operational performance targets are met.
• Lead the analysis and development of policy, training, and business solutions to support the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Draft internal report and briefing notes to support decision-making on First Nations matters
• Lead and contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of RoadTek projects and activities through the monitoring of the program of works, identification, validation and implementation of business improvement strategies and change initiatives.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as set out in section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. One of the referees must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• You may be required to travel to other locations within Queensland to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.

Desirable qualifications and experience:
• Qualification in business, project management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role.

• Experience working with legislation and policy frameworks and in preparing a range of complex documents.
• Able to recognise and articulate the interests of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the ability to consult in accordance with cultural protocols if required.
