As part of this team, you will coordinate the flow of information that underpins the relationship between the Ministerial Office and the Department. This role suits someone who is highly organised, responsive and confident managing complex, time-sensitive issues in a fast-paced environment.
Your days will involve triaging high-volume correspondence, prioritising urgent requests and ensuring the Minister receives accurate and timely advice. You will work closely with colleagues across the Department, the Office of the Director General, ministerial staff and external stakeholders to identify emerging issues, develop coordinated responses and maintain strong communication networks. You will research and analyse sensitive matters, negotiate appropriate processesand timeframes, and ensure that departmental perspectives are clearly and consistently communicated. You will support Ministerial visits and engagements, prepare briefing material, and provide high- level written and verbal advice where needed.
The role also contributes to secretariat support for key meetings, maintains reporting and forward schedules, and helps integrate support functions across the Department and Ministerial interfaces. Success in this position relies on your professionalism, discretion, diplomacy and ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities while keeping outcomes on track.
