The Manager and Assistant Cabinet, Legislation and Liaison Officer (CLLO) provides high-level strategic leadership, authoritative advice, and oversight of complex Cabinet and parliamentary processes to support the Attorney-General and Director-General. This role supports the Director and CLLO in driving department-wide alignment with government priorities and Cabinet protocols.

Your key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic coordination, oversight and quality assurance of the department's Cabinet and legislation program in collaboration with executive leaders.
- Manage and provide expert advice on Cabinet processes, legislation timetabling, and decision implementation across the department.
- Critically evaluate Cabinet submissions and policy proposals, ensuring alignment with whole-of-government priorities, legal accuracy and high standards of presentation.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the Office of the Attorney-General, central agencies, and executive leaders across government.
- Represent DOJ in high-level forums and negotiate outcomes on complex or sensitive matters with whole-of-government impact.
- Oversee the preparation and dispatch of the Cabinet bag, ensuring timeliness, security, and compliance with DOJ protocols.
- Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and reform projects within the Cabinet, Appointments and Parliamentary Services team.
- Manage secure handling and dissemination of Cabinet and parliamentary documents, maintaining rigorous information management practices.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and performance oversight to direct reports, contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team.
