The Parole Board Queensland was established as an independent authority and its statutory functions and powers are exercised independently from influence by Queensland Corrective Services (QCS).
As an independent decision-making body, the Board receives information from a range of people, service providers and organisations. The Board scrutinizes this information in order to maintain public confidence through the transparency of the parole decision-making process.
The Secretariat is a business unit established under the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations division of QCS. The Secretariat supports the Board through the provision of administrative and legal support in accordance with QCS’ statutory obligations relating to the operations of the Board.

We need you to critically analyse Secretariat operations, provide expert advice on offender management, and support the Manager in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and effective administrative support of the Board. You will also lead and develop a small team, foster a positive and diverse workplace culture, and contribute to strategic reporting and auditing frameworks.
Your day to day will include supervising staff workloads, mentoring and coaching team members, allocating and quality assuring Secretariat outputs. You will also prepare complex reports and submissions, monitor performance systems and ensure legislative compliance.
