The Parole Board Queensland was established as an independent authority and its statutory functions and powers are exercised independently from influence by Queensland Corrective Services (QCS).
As an independent decision-making body, the Board receives information from a range of people, service providers and organisations. The Board scrutinizes this information in order to maintain public confidence through the transparency of the parole decision-making process.
The Secretariat is a business unit established under the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations division of QCS. The Secretariat supports the Board through the provision of administrative and legal support in accordance with QCS’ statutory obligations relating to the operations of the Board.

We need you to provide strategic advice and support to the Executive and Management team on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and governance arrangements whilst ensuring compliance with legislative, procedural, and quality frameworks. You will also maintain a high level of knowledge of legislation, policies, and contemporary issues to guide the Board and Secretariat in meeting accountability obligations and managing potential risks effectively.
Your day to day will include leading the preparation of reports, briefings, and submissions, while overseeing governance reporting and performance evaluation mechanisms. You will manage financial, asset, and HR data, supervise and develop staff, and collaborate with business units and stakeholders to address oversight findings. In addition, you will liaise with internal and external partners to achieve corporate outcomes and continuously monitor changes in the statutory and policy environment.
