The Senior Vendor and Contracts Officer role is responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Department of Justice (the Department) customers, stakeholders and vendors, employing active contract management and regular communication to ensure customer business needs are understood and met. Additional responsibilities include procurement activities, such as invitations to offer, requests for quote, software renewals, general ICT purchasing and contract administration activities.

Your key responsibilities:
- Establish and proactively manage a portfolio of contracts and related procurement activities and associated ICT vendors, in accordance with Qld Government frameworks and contract management and procurement best practices to avoid risks and realise benefits for the Department.
- Act as first point of contact for vendor performance issues and manage and uplift performance criteria, including, KPIs/SLAs, reporting and general vendor performance and relationships, to achieve the best outcomes for the Department.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external customers, stakeholders and vendors to facilitate the needs of the Department, in particular for ICT sourcing activities.
- Create, implement and maintain contract and/or vendor plans and any other key contract resources.
- Action and manage to completion contract administration activities including, variations, contract finance, reporting and any other general administration.
- Communicate in a professional, clear, concise manner and use logically structured written and verbal communication to provide advice and guidance.
- Undertake any other general duties and use internal systems and software e.g. ServiceNow, to support the core functions of the Vendor Management Team.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability:
- Maintain a positive relationship with vendors and internal customers that leads to value for money and low risk product and/or service provision to the Department.
- Maintain knowledge, understanding and provide a consistent application of QLD Government procurement and contract processes, guidelines and standards in a rapidly changing ICT environment.
- Provide advice, analysis and reports verbally and in writing relating to contract and procurement matters, including vendor performance and adherence to agreed performance metrics, as outlined in a portfolio of enterprise contracts.
- Prepare clear and concise memos, advice, reports and submissions with appropriately sourced supporting information.
- Work autonomously and be accountable for achieving outcomes in a specialist ICT vendor and contracts team, including liaising with and building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position, as would be reasonably required.
