The Role
In the role of Engineer (Civil), you will collaborate with senior staff to contribute to the planning and delivery of road and transport infrastructure projects that benefit Queensland communities. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of planning studies, overseeing consultants, and supporting projects through all phases, from initial planning to design and construction.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring projects are safe, efficiently designed and cost-effective. Additionally, you will provide the Corridor Management team with advice on road and infrastructure planning issues.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Contributing to the management of projects or specific project components including the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly progress reports.
• Assisting in the development of project planning documents, such as Road Link Plans, Options Analyses, and Business Cases, in alignment with TMR's standard templates and procedures.
• Providing support to senior staff in managing consultant and contractor engagements, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Establishing and maintaining effective communication and collaborative relationships with colleagues, local councils, and other stakeholders involved in the projects.
• Adhering to TMR's quality management protocols to ensure all work complies with departmental standards.
• Supporting procurement activities, cost tracking, and reporting for planning projects, while upholding professionalism and integrity.
• Facilitating the delivery of projects across planning, design, and construction phases to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Contributing to the broader objectives of the Project Planning team, including participating in technical reviews, planning initiatives, and working groups as required.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
• Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will be required to be completed.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
