Senior Program Officer

Are you wanting to work in a great team environment that assists scientist deliver exciting projects using digital platforms. The Senior Program Officer provides expertise and undertakes specialised program and project support activities to enable the successful delivery of digital services and programs within the Science Division.
The Senior Program Officer will work closely in supporting Project and Program Managers, supervises the Senior Project Officer and, from a supervisory perspective, reports to the Principal Project Manager, Information and Digital Science Delivery, Science Division.

We're looking for the best-suited person for the role. As the Senior Program Officer, you will:
• Provide program and project support, including:
- secretariat functions;
- risk and issues management;
- facilitating the information flows across the program of work.
• Prepare, manage and monitor reporting and program management processes (to ensure consistent and appropriate application of project management methodology).
• Manage ICT project and program plans, including detailed communication strategies delivered through a variety of channels that promote the program of work.
• Support the adequate resourcing of projects and shared functions within the program of work by assisting with preparation of supporting recruitment / engagement materials and processes.
• Review and maintain internet, intranet and SharePoint content, monitor information for relevance, consistency and currency, and facilitate timely updates to ensure all content is in line with program objectives and that of the Science Division and the Department more broadly.
• Use research, analytical and writing skills to prepare reports, briefing notes, submissions, project plans, business cases and associated materials.
• Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communications and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and the management of expectations.
• Develop a range of communication materials to provide visibility of the program of work within the Science Division, across the department more broadly, and with partner agencies and external stakeholders.
• Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace that is free from bullying, discrimination and harassment.
What you need for this role
Role model Individual contributor leadership behaviours as outlined in the
Leadership competencies for Queensland.
• Demonstrate your experience in program/project management in a complex environment. Certification in PRINCE2 project management methodology and/or MSP program management methodology will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrate your proven ability to identify broader factors, trends and influences that may impact on the teams work objectives. Undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence. Possess a thorough
knowledge of program and project processes, policies and methodologies.
