The Role
As a Principal Project Officer (AO7), you'll be a key player in shaping Queensland's water future. This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on Strategic Water Infrastructure Planning—supporting enhanced water supplyplanning, identifying and progressing priority projects, and delivering water security objectives across the state.
Your work will include:
-Contributing to the Queensland Water Security Plan and informing the forward capital program for bulk water projects.
-Coordinating across internal teams and engaging with external stakeholders such as central agencies and water entities.
-Managing and analysing bulk water program data to strengthen strategic planning and prioritisation.
-Preparing high-level strategic documents, submissions, and reports for senior management and Executive Government.
-Leading project design, delivery, governance, and reporting, including budget and risk management activities.
Key Accountabilities
-Lead coordination and consultation with internal and external stakeholders on strategic water infrastructure planning.
-Collect, manage, and analyse program and project data to enhance visibility and governance.
-Prepare reports, briefing notes, and submissions to inform decision-making.
-Drive improvements in data management and reporting systems.
-Contribute to project management functions including planning, budgets, and HR activities.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
-Has at least 2 years' experience in project development and management.
-Brings expertise in strategic infrastructure planning, project assessment, and data management.
-Understands government processes and can navigate complex stakeholder environments.
-Is highly organised, a strong communicator, and thrives in collaborative settings.
-Demonstrates leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.
