We are seeking fixed term temporary full-time Senior Case Managers to join our Townsville,/Mackay/Mt Isa teams.

Community Corrections is responsible for supervising adults subject to Community Based Orders and/or Parole. We aim to protect the community & reduce re-offending by supervising clients & supporting them to achieve meaningful change. The Senior Case Manager ensures a high level of community safety through the effective case management of clients within the community addressing their assessed risks & needs.

You will play a vital role in protecting the community, working as part of a dedicated team, you will act as an agent of change to address offending behaviour & encourage rehabilitation, making our communities safer.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management, staff and internal and external stakeholders at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues
  • Able to work self-sufficiently and to cope with the pace, complexity and multitasking required in the operating environment.
  • Able to demonstrate experience working within a legislative framework that underpins a core service delivery area.
  • Ability to build and manage ongoing working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Interpersonal skills for negotiating with key stakeholders, who often have competing interests, on sensitive and complex issues.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS, PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION, CONDITIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Individuals employed on a permanent or temporary basis will be required to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community). All activities and assessments associated with the Certificate IV are to be completed within 12 months of commencing their employment, and certification achieved within 18 months.
  • The incumbent may be required to travel on official business, and the possession of a C class licence is required and will be mandatory in specific locations where it is identified as essential by the hiring panel.
