The Principal Advisor, Executive Engagement plays a pivotal role in leading strategic engagement and communication initiatives for the Director-General. Acting as a conduit between their office, the communication branch, and the broader agency, this role requires exceptional strategic vision, planning, and communication skills to deliver high-quality content across a diverse, fast-paced portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assess risks and opportunities; connect dots internally, across government, and stakeholders; and align internal and external engagements with departmental priorities, including securing priority events.
• Manage diverse stakeholders, including senior executives, ministerial advisors, industry representatives and the public, with the ability to navigate complex relationships and challenging situations.
• Craft high-quality communication outputs for the Director-General anddepartment, including speeches, social media content, and employee updates, ensuring consistent messaging across the portfolio.
• Produce professional and engaging presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint, Canva) tailored to various audiences and platforms, and deliver clear, concise, consistent, and impactful messages to a wide range of audiences.
• Anticipate issues, act quickly, and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment to mitigate risks.
• Rally and align teams across a large organisation to ensure seamless communication and engagement.
• Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace that is free from bullying, discrimination and harassment.
