Join Lands Operations Support and play a key role in shaping the policy advice that underpins effective natural resources management across Queensland. This role focuses on providing high-level, expert advice to senior leaders on complex lands policy matters, forming the foundation of sound decision making.
Our Land division are the stewards for 60% of the land in Queensland and we deliver a variety of land and property services across Queensland, including land and asset valuations; state land administration and on ground management surveying services; native title claims and compensation; Indigenous land services; vegetation management; place names; and government land acquisitions. In this role, you will lead the policy advice and coordination that supports the sustainable development and management of Queensland's land and natural resources. This position suits someone who is strategic, confident and experienced in navigating complex policy environments, and who understands the importance of providing clear, authoritative advice to support informed decision making.
Your days will involve overseeing the development of high-level briefs, reports, submissions and presentations for senior leaders, as well as identifying emerging risks and shaping responses to complex and contentious policy issues. You will guide consultation and negotiation with industry and other stakeholders, balancing competing interests while delivering outcomes aligned with government priorities.
You will work closely with colleagues across government and external partners to progress initiatives and deliver on commitments. A key part of the role is building a high-performing team through mentoring, coaching and professional development, while fostering a supportive and service-focused culture.
